How To Get the Most Out of Your Office Breaks
Breaks are the best – when you can step away from your work for a few minutes, you can come back feeling recharged and ready to take on your next set of tasks. However, more often than not, we end up spending our 10–15-minute break scrolling through Instagram and TikTok, right? Breaks like that never really help you reset.
Here are some ways to take better breaks that help you focus on yourself and your mindset. These tips will absolutely help you feel rested and more productive.
Be Social
Sometimes it’s nice to have a little chat over your break. Check in on a colleague and see if they are also taking a break. Or call a friend or family member and check in on them. Socializing increases your well-being and can brighten up your day.
Boost your energy
If you’re feeling tired, there are a few ways to regain your energy. Spend your break by going for a short walk outside, or by doing some stretches. Alternatively, have a healthy snack, such as dried fruits and nuts, peanut butter & banana or cottage cheese.
Increase your productivity
If you want to maximize your productivity during your break, consider organizing your workspace. De-clutter your drawers, clean your desk, file any loose papers and documents or organize and sort your computer files.
Stimulate your mind
Bring a book to work and spend your break reading. Or play a game; the crossword is a great way to stimulate your brain, as is a good ole game of sudoku. If you are feeling more creative, try journaling.
